do you listen to the music or do you listen to everybody's opinions on the artist?
why do people claim things to be over or under rated? does it actually have to do with the music? when music press + journalists love to wank all over someones records, does that make this album a bad album.. only because its 'hype' on musical press?
if the music is good enough and makes you feel something, its worth its price as art, and it doesnt matter how boring, cliched, over rated it is for others.
what i guess i mean, is, i know this person who listens to Jandek and Merzbow as much as he listens to Nirvana and the Sex Pistols... and he doesn't have a problem with that, because he knows what he does like and what he does enjoy. (me hah)

There has always been some kind of strange obsession with some people and their choices in music. Some seem to feel that only their choice in music is the best, and therefore everybody else's choice is shyte.
It is a bit like when you say " Oh you know my mums cooking is the best" ... and it really isn't, it is just what you have been brought up with, an acquired taste. Why some people forget this I dont know!
